ABOUT OUR ART GALLERY

Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts is dedicated to the promotion of local, national and international contemporary artists which includes such notables as Thomas Arvid, Todd White, Stephen Holland and Luigi Rocca.

In 1996, Michael Wolf, along with his partners, John and Kathy Collins, established the gallery in the historic Brunswick Building, located on Fifth Ave in the historic Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego. Michael began his career framing art at the age of nineteen in San Diego.

In 1986, he took a chance, moved to Hawaii and continued to expand his knowledge of art and framing. Over the next three years, he learned and developed cutting edge framing techniques and a deeper understanding of the art world.

In 1989 he moved back to the mainland, opened a frame shop called “The Naked Wall” and in 1991 became a Certified Picture Framer (CPF).

Feeling unfulfilled and wanting to take the next step, Michael took a chance as the Gaslamp District began its redevelopment to expand from “The Naked Wall” to open a fine art gallery in 1996.

His vision has now become the oldest and most recognized gallery in the Gaslamp Quarter. With over 26 years of experience, Michael brings his expertise and knowledge to the gallery, providing clients with insight into the process of purchasing, framing and displaying fine art.

The gallery caters to the tastes and trends of sophisticated and discerning collectors worldwide and is pleased to present high quality affordable art in a comfortable, no pressure atmosphere.
